| Charney
has a purpose built kennel block providing indoor heated sleeping
quarters with free access to individual outside covered runs.
Our
aim is to provide the highest standard of care in a friendly
environment with the utmost in comfort, security and hygiene.
Why
choose us / Home boarding ?
Put
simply home boarding cannot offer an appropriate standard
of animal care as set out for our licensed premesis
Firstly,
there is a high risk of infection. To meet the same high standards
found here, dogs would have to kept in one uncarpeted room,
which would need disinfecting every day, any soft furnishings
& bedding would have to be washed or disposed of after
every stay.Flea larvae and pupa can remain in the environment
until a suitable host is detected, and parvovirus can stay
viable for up to 6 months. Only the most sparse and clinical
home environment could be suitable.
Secondly,
there is the issue of segregation. Dogs from different homes
should not be allowed to mix until the area has been thoroughly
disinfected.
Security
is also far more of an issue in a private home. Doors &
windows would have to be kept permantly shut or covered at
all times to avoid escapes.
Thirdly,
the welfare of your animals must be paramount, we believe
our facilities to be superior to that offered by home boarding.
Exercise
for a home boarders is likely to be in a back garden, impossible
to clean to discourage the risk of contagion.
When
it comes to boarding your pet, we have a wealth of experience
and expertise, always having your dogs welfare at heart.

The
Cattery surrounds an ornamental pond providing interest for
all our guests. Individual sleeping quarters provide comfort
and warmth and each cabin has it's own covered play area.

The
Kennels and Cattery are constantly supervised by long-standing
caring staff to ensure that your pet's stay is a happy one.
There is always someone on site 24 hours a day, 365 days a
year.
Accommodation
is also offered to small animals - we can take care of your
rabbit, ferret, guinea pig or rat whilst you are away.

The
Kennels are situated in approximately 6 acres, so there is
plenty of room to walk your dog. We have a secure exercise
paddock so dogs can have an off lead run and play ball games
etc.

We
are happy to show you around the kennels, a phone call is
appreciated to ensure that a member of staff is available.
